I also noticed they were pretty vague on "What is Calculus", which led nicely into the first lesson on pre-calculus vs calculus mathematics.Ms. Halloranhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17984374402569269632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2750355884816556227.post-78961659328273621832012-07-30T21:13:54.535-05:002012-07-30T21:13:54.535-05:00Thanks, I've modified it and will use with my ...Thanks, I've modified it and will use with my college class.Sue VanHattumhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10237941346154683902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2750355884816556227.post-53478146613678139352010-08-21T09:10:15.017-05:002010-08-21T09:10:15.017-05:00If 4 is the number before 4, haven't all of yo...If 4 is the number before 4, haven't all of your students already taken calculus?

Cool questionnaire.Karim Loguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17782905580929456472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2750355884816556227.post-34770704586606531452010-08-13T20:15:58.597-05:002010-08-13T20:15:58.597-05:00I gave it to them on the way out the first day and...I gave it to them on the way out the first day and took it up the day after, so it was more of a homework sort of thing. We went over the answers, though, before I took it up and gave them an opportunity to share some of their more creative answers in class. I don't think they took advantage of the binomial theorem/pascal's triangle for expanding the cubic in #7 and they definitely didn't think of factoring it. So, they did the ol' (x-2)(x-2)(x-2) "FOIL" thing (those who did get it).CalcDavehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14039458440867020542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2750355884816556227.post-56335801536569704552010-08-13T17:46:22.350-05:002010-08-13T17:46:22.350-05:00I like the questions!
